There appeared to be some conflicting results as to the alkaloids contained in Eschscholtzia Californica. One investigator found three, another five and a third worker reported morphine. R. Fischer found that the plant contains seven alkaloids: a and y homo-cheli doniac; two unnamed alkaloids, a b, sanguinarine, chelerythrine and protopine.
